Birdcage Corsair

As I'm sure some of you know I really like F4U corsairs, and I really have a thing for F4U-1 (birdcage) corsairs. I thought it wouldn't be too hard to make a canopy. Well that's what I get for thinking.
After exploring different ways to make the canopy I finally decided that I wanted to resin cast it. So right now I'm working on the mold master. I'm using short strand glass reinforced bondo that I'm pressing into a plaster of paris mold negetive I made from a clay model. One of the problems I'm running into is I keep getting air pockets in the bondo, and that usually ruins the part. So if anyone with a little experiance with this sort of thing had any tips I would appreciate any help.
Here are a few pics of where I'm at right now. This part is getting tossed because of too many air pockets.
