Awesome job on Gabby's P-47, it is my favorite Thunderbolt scheme, and my favorite pilot. If I had a bubble top 47, I would paint it the same way. Great job. Did you build that 51 from the Skyworks kit or did you buy it that way?

Hey Jackson,
I have the piece you have mentioned. I decided to omit that as it looks like Gabreskis 28 kills was very much like your decal without the stencils. here is good pic of his kills emblem.
The P-51 comes complete and is BBI P-51 redone with early version canopy. Well done conversion job by Jack.

Great 'ski!! One of the most memorable p-47's and you've done it great justice.
Thanks for the photo of the early 'stang also. Not to carp it's great work, but you've manage to provide a perspective that settles a bother I've had with it. See the following site.
http://www.airplane-pictures.net/image10820.html
and compare the leading edge of the wing just as it blends with the fuselage. Thoso several "scale feet" are still cranked forward like the later 'stangs. The early ones had a much straighter leading edge.
Still, look good.
Tanks for the memories
Your breachblocks so black
And oodles of track
Here at Grafenwoehr it's so good to be back
Oh, tanks for the memories..

I have long wanted to do that P-47 as a custom myself. I still have a bubbletop that I can paint and I might still do it as this scheme. Yours looks fantastic. Great job!

Thanks for the positive replies.
I think after the time and cost I spent doing the P-47D repaint the cost of Skyworks planes is somewhat justified but really most of the Skyworks planes are too expensive. The P-51B/C version is one of the cheapest planes they sell.
