years ago i bought, at Canadian Tire, which is a big automotive/home repair chain store, some big black plastic screws or big black plastic things that had a thread like a screw. I used them for a custom project i was making at the time. They were a good 1/2 inch in diameter. Plastic and black.

Well, i need more of them now but haven't got a clue what they are called or what they would be used for, so i don't know how to ask for them.

Anyone have an idea what it was i bought and what they're called? I just stumbled on them before and can't find them now.

Thanks for any help.

Try looking up nylon screws. Here is the first result of a Google search.

They sell them at my local Ace Hardware but 1/2" is big.

Those types of screws are frequently used in radio control model airplanes. Especially the balsa and cover buildups that require attaching wings. Those plastic screws are often used. I've seen them in white and black. Try a hobby store that sells R/C airplane parts.
