Custom C1 Dora (REDUX)..

My "Red 4" was getting lonely so I decided to add a wingman. "Red 13" is one of the four known Doras of JV-44. The colors are pretty standard, but "Red 13" was oversprayed with patches of Grey-violet. I don't know if this was because the plane was a combination of different aircraft or that it was from another unit and the previous markings need to be covered (this is my assumption). Some profiles suggest that the wings were also Grey violet, but I just don't see that being possible since the Grey-violet on the fuselage was obviously done quickly and in the areas to cover previous tactical markings and the Reich defense band.
This repaint wasn't as easy as I thought it would be because this plane had to be kit bashed from 2 Doras to get the right mix of parts. This plane is part Barkhorn (wings/supercharger intake) and part Hofmann (fuselage/canopy). The Hofmann is a D-11 and the rest of JV-44's Doras were D-9's, so I had to sacrifice a perfectly good Barkhorn to get another JV-44 bird. I could have used the whole Barkhorn, but the canopy was incorrect.
Edit: A member on another forum brought to my attention that I didn't have the correct cowl on my original pics, so I replaced the cowl and took new shots, they are still yellowed and I didn't have time to color correct them.. Oh well..
