How do I put the correct swastika markings on aircraft that already come with a "politically correct" tail marking in its place?
I have the decals ready to go,just need some advice on how to get rid of the tail marking that is already there
Will a decal solvent get rid of the original markings?
Should be fairly simple.Just looking for some expert advice before I start this.

Are you applying swatikas on a 1/18 Stuka or 1/18 ME/BF 109? Or the 1/32 German planes? Did you buy the decals from Bad Cat Aviation? I've done plenty of these on the 1/18 Stuka. The decal Vexillarius (aka Jackson on this forum) produces fits perfectly over the "X" on the Stuka tail without having to clear anything.

109.
No problem putting a swastika on on the plane as it is.I need to place something that will not obscure it.
However, the 109 has a grey patch,in place of the swastika.
I cannot just put the decal over this.I need to remove the "factory"finish.
Is this a decal,or painted?
And how do I remove?
I do not want to do a repaint of the tail.
This should be easy.

Ahh, you must have one of the older 109's. I think one of them had a black patch and the other one had the grey patch. I think Bad Cat toys has the decal that has the planes color as the backing and the swazi in black on top of it. This is the link to what I think may help.

As for removing the paint some may say acetone. It will remove the type of paint on our XD. However if used to much it also can break down the plastic underneath.

I really hope BadCat's decal will solve your issue instead of resorting to acetone.

Anyone else know of any other solvent not quite as strong as acetone?

Thanks Black Lion VF-213,
That sounds like my solution.if the decal had the aircraft colour as a backing.

Has anybody done this, with the BadCat decals?

And if so,how well does the decal match the aircraft colour?

Thanks for your help guys. :D
