1/18 F-82 Custom ?

Post by pickelhaube » Fri Mar 13, 2009 6:46 am

Hey Guys,

I have a lot on my plate so why do I want to do more ? I don't know. After I get done with the MANY pojects I am in the middel of I really want to do a F-82. Just a Plain Jane one no radar drome just the basic airship.

This thing will be pretty big so I will be doing 2 at a time. A gloss black and a natural alum. I will do this just a few hrs a week because I have a bunch of other projetcs that need to be done.

This will be for fun , I do not think that I will make copies because there will be hundreds of dollars worth of RTV and I do not think the return will be there.

I will like to do a step by step so if guys want to build one of there own they can probably follow what I am doing and one of their own.

This project will probably be started in a month AND WILL BE LONG AND DRAWN OUT. Because I will do a little at a time. Maybe a few hrs a week. I want this to be a fun build and don't mind giving pointers as I go along with it.

So if any body is interested I will do a step by step from start to if it ever gets finished . If there is a low interest I will just do an occational project pic when major things get done on it.

I already have the planes and scale drawings with a tiny scale 1/48 model. Way too small for my eyesight but that is all that is out there.

Let me know.

I probable would not like one only because it would cost a good sum of$$$$.
but I WOULD LOVE a sdkfz251/9 stummel kit.
that i would sink some money into. more than likely. make it as a kit form to keep cost down.

Because you're hooked on the rush that comes from getting a new idea or inspiration. I'm that way too. More ideas than i will ever be able to get around to in my lifetime but i still come up with more all the time. It's addictive.

But once the rush is gone and the mundaneness of the work begins, you miss the rush and want it back, so you come up with more.

Ideas as opiates...

This is scary. You are right

I think of things all of the time. XD projects here and there. It is fun just to go to Kinkos and enlarge a set of prints knowing that I will never do anything about it. But is is still fun to do.

Yes, a few years ago when i first caught onto enlarging stuff i went nuts too. Planes, tanks, parts of ships, dinosaurs. Became an empty experience in time and i desired more...

I am thinking of bringing this back up any interest at this time ?

I do not think I will produce this. It will be just for fun.

Any interest in a step by step as the work progresses so you guys can fallow along and maybe do one for yourself ?

That would be a cool model, PH. 8)

Not in the market for one myself, but would be an eye catcher.

Hopefully you do one for yourself, and post pics.

It's always fun to watch as long as we the spectators don't have to do the work huh? :D

I haven't seen one done yet, and you'd think it would be an interesting and obvious choice with all the P-51's to work with.

So yeah I'd like to see one PH.
