Your doing a great job. I will be building this one myself for the XD market in a month or so maybe less.
The rear grate came in a couple of sizes . You can use the FOV rear grate and it should work out fine.

It is easier if you have a model to scale off of. I will be using the AFV Club as the master for mine it is the closest to the shape according to Zaloga in the Osprey book.

This will totaly look cool when you are done.

Very nice indeed 8)
I too plan on making one or two M-10s someday  The Sherman chassie is used on many WWII tanks. I am glad I horded about 20 of them over the couple years. The M-36 Jackson also has about the same underframe and hull too. It will be a nice project as well ;) Nice to see some other custom tanks being built as we can use them as a guide :)

If any one else is thinking about making one I have a beat up BBI Sherman it is missing all the hatches and main gun .But the lower hull is in great shape. it would be free, You cover shipping.

How are you planing to make the M36 turret? I have thought about making one for the BBI M4A3 hull. But since it is curved and open on top I haven't come up with any ideas.

It looks like we are working our M-10s side by side.

This is looking good. This project is a little more work than anticipated isn't it?
