 WOW!
Really nice job.
I like the blue window pains. What did you use on them?
Who knew the Bulldog could look so good?

Thanks for the possitive feedback guys. Half the motivation is being able to post pics and hear from others that actually give a rat's arse and know how much work went into a project to make it look "used". The wife does not fall under the above category when it comes to armor. She only likes the planes and occasional Transformer.

The windows were an experiment and are by far my favorite to date. I used Tamiya Metallic Blue mixed with Gunmetal. The windows on the commander's copala look the best because they were unpainted. The driver's scopes came painted silver. This is my first RC paintjob so I decided not to mud it up because it weathers itself for each season.

Thanks again,
Ron

I think it came out very nice, not too little or too much, just right. :) I have a brand new one in box that I'm going to send to our member Cabe for a complete repaint and weathering job, and it's going to have the markings and insignia of a Bundeswehr "Aufklarungs" (recon) M41 circa 1958 using a set of Peddinghaus decals that are specifically for the 1/16 Bulldog. Here are a couple of pics of what I hope it will look like (minus the markings) when finished, I'm confident Cabe can reproduce this look quite well.... 8) BTW, for what it's worth the HL Bulldog, along with the Panzer III is generally considered one of the most agile and best running RC tanks HL has ever produced. Nah, actually the guy who painted that tank modeled it after an actual vehicle that saw service in Nam' if memory serves me correctly, and that's where the Playboy bunny graphic came from. Mine will have the German Balkenkreuz of the post-WWII Bundeswehr style on the turret, looks like this... Not nearly as sexy as the bunny though eh...??

* The Bunny markings are pretty neat (kinda' cool though) , no pun intended , if you were going to have them painted on anyway. + = 8)

....... It'd be neat for an M-48 to have those Bunny markings too. + = 8)

No problem Mitch, I knew you were just funnin' BTW, I believe I have seen some pics of Nam' era M-48's with that same (or very similar) Playboy bunny graphic on the turret, I wonder if anybody makes decals of it...??

I forgot I posted this and stopped looking for updates. That paint job looks great ostketten. The only thing wrong is the treads, they only rust when not in use for years. The RC guys have a museum model builder who drove a Patton and Bulldog and he will curse any tank with rust on the treads. I've seen the cloth on the muzzle before and love the look, but I'm too lazy. I finally found my decals, so I will finish touching it up, and applying them. I need to de-rust it a bit and was thinking of drybrushing with some lighter green, any suggestions?

He is what's known as a "rivet counter", I personally never get that worked up about such things, but thanks for bringing it to my attention, if I do any rust on the tracks I'll probably just keep it very light.

Me too... I'm probably not gonna do the canvas mantlet cover, just too much hassle.. and they come off too easy as well.

I should have recognized your name. He is the reason I stopped posting pics of my work there. I have imagination and like to modify my universe to my personal tastes. He even called out my tank crew.

LOL you mean "pattoncommander"? Yeah I stopped listening to that guy since I realized that even though he drove Pattons and Bulldogs all the time, most of what he say is nonsense.

Like that tip about "rust-colored" tracks. Just because it has the color of rust doesn't mean it's actually rust. Look at this brand-new Abrams the Aussies got....I guess the Aussies didn't realize that what they got are derelict Abrams that hasn't been run in years...
