Slight custom of The Huff

Post by Black Lion VF-213 » Sat Jan 31, 2009 7:48 am

Always been my favorite F-86 scheme. Saw some pictures of this Sabre on the internet and wanted to make it look more realistic. I completely repainted the aux tanks and painted the gun plate titanium and used magnesium for the tail cone.

Most of the rest of my collection is on this flickr webpage too including my 1/32 21st Century Toys F4U-1 Corsair kit as Ira Kepford's all dirty and worn looking, my enhanced BBI Corsairs and special Jolly Rogers livery upgrade to the Dragon 1/72 VF-103 Tomcat now as "Santa Cat" from the 2000 Med Cruise.

Just for grins and giggles....why not paint the ID bands on the bottom of the wings too?

Fockewulfe, you're absolutely right! I never payed attention to the bottom of the wings in the couple photos I have. They do have yellow/black bands matching the top.

Well, I'm going to get right on it. They look simple to do. Should only take a couple hours of prep and paint, and voila!

Thanks for the hint

Most people didn't notice it at first...no biggie. All of mine have had the ID bands corrected. Hopefully you've notice too....if you have an AT Saber...that the star under the right wing is upside down. I guess the QC guys were asleep on these....but they're easy to repair.
