1/16 T-26E3 Pershing Tank

Post by GooglyDoogly » Wed Jan 07, 2009 6:44 pm

Been working on this on inbetween other models, so it's taking a while for me to finish this. It's a Tamiya 1/16th Pershing, with added details.

Been working on a new weathering technique for models that only has one color.

I gave the tank commander a cigar, and I tried to model the gigar smoke out of wisps of cotton...it's hard to tell, but it's there. :D

Weathering the .50 Ma Deuce was fun.

I also added a rougher surface on the Pershing's turret and hultl, to portray its rough cast look.

I'm planning on making everything like baggages, on this tank removable, including the spare track link. It's currently fastened onto the turret just as it was with the real deal. The great thing is, if I ever need to replace a track section, I could always use these track links!

More pics to follow later...

Nice work. How did you rough up the finish on the turrent? And the figure looks great!

It's been a long road, but I am still in the game. :)

I used a stiff brush to dab Elmer's Glue in irregular patterns all over the surface of the turret and the front hull. :)

Very nice tank. I love the Elmers glue idea. I may use that on my next armor project.
Thanks !!
