Panzer M,
I just primered and painted over the existing markings, but on future repaints, I will remove the original markings before the primer coat.

Corey,
No, but it was a Hackl 109 just like it. I originally started this back in October and it took me forever to get it done. Not that it took so long, I just didn't have time to work on it.

Thanks for the comments guys! With winter setting in, I hope to be able to get more done in the repaint department.

Your 1/32 repaint is a nice project. May I ask what you plan on using to remove the markings on future repaints? I was assuming that using a primer coat would be sufficient before repainting. What problem did you face from the original markings?

Whether insignia is painted, tampo, or decal, most of the time if you leave them on and hit the model with some paint you will be able to see the outline of the insignia. Extra coats ain't the cure either.

I will probably use paint thinner to remove the markings as acetone did not touch them on this plane. I shot the plane with a coat of Tamiya primer, but as Vmf214 pointed out, you can still see the faint outline of the original markings on the plane. Not that they are that noticeable, but you can see them if you look really close.

As always Harry, you do excellent work!
I wish I was able to buy that Fw-190 Willi Maximowitz custom you made a while back...

RAD2112,
Yeah, that ones mine, I thought I'd try one more time before keeping it.
I will be painting more customs in the future and I bought extra 190s to do plenty more repaints including 1 or two more Maximowitz 190's.
