I was messing around tonight with the Vallejo Panzer Black(no.333 of the Panzer Aces line of colors), lightly thinned with Tamiya thinner..and painted the pants on a crewman..well unlike most flat blacks, this dried to a nice soft black without a sheen or gloss and was thin enough to show pockets, fly, and other details without issues..I'll see if I can get an unblurred pic with the cam on the zoom'd in option Alloy showed me when it fully dries. Also it was applied to a unprimered surface, but the figure was washed in warm water and dried before painting..to remove oils and stuff from the surface.

over I just applied it with a spotter brush, 10/0 size I think(I'll have to check, wasn't too careful as it was a test and got some on the shoes, which will be covered if I finish the figure.

The paint is a bit more pricey than Tamiya or Model Master and finding it locally can be a pain(I mailed ordered this color) but for the effect so far I would recommend it.

I always add a touch of white or buff, cuz pure black looks too fake on a small scale.

IIRC I used Tam flat black, w/ touch of flat white...also use flat white in the dunkelgelb.

yeah, you will need to put a primer on your models if you're using acrylics like vallejo, polyscale or tamiya, because they'll flake like crazy, considering those paint are designed to be pigment-thin. (best used for airbrushing rather than hand painting)
