easy mount display

Post by Yoxford » Fri Oct 03, 2008 11:14 am

Wanted to make a nice display for the M4 and got inspired by a magnetic note clip I found.

Removed the clip part and mounted the magnet to a wood dowel, in turn mounted to the wood base. Added some late summer turf on top and a felt bottom, and mounted a metal plate to the bottom of the M4.

Now I can display the M4 on a VERY solid mount that will not move and actually pulls the model down giving the illusion of massive weight on the tracks. Removing it is simple with a solid pull.

The sign of a great model is that one’s eye is not drawn to any one feature, yet one can study it for hours and continually find something new.

I like it Yox... simple, yet effective. 8) Question... is that display base of your own making, or did it come with the tank...?? Either way it's a nice lookin base, but it looks a tad small for the massive size of that tank. A great looking setup in any case though. :)
