Today was a bad day. I finally got my RTV in so I can finish on the Stuka cowling. I usually lay the object I am trying to mold in a bed of clay half way up. Then pour the RTV on top of it. Then after the RTV sets I flip evrything upside down then pour the RTV on the other side after digging out the clay. This is a pain. So I decide to make a pour like the directions on the instructions. Make a box suspend the object in mid air and pour the RTV under it up to the half way mark. Well this does not work. Talk about air bubbles galor. Time and RTV wasted. I remade the mold my way with no problems. Then I decide to make the cowling in one piece. I pour in some quick resin. The quik resin set up so quick that I had a paper thin shell for the cowling and a rough resin dougnut in the middel. Compleat failer. I used the slow set with better results.

Then I have just compleated making by new larger vacuform machine I plug it in. The vacume works great no leaks. The heating element got hot. So I turn up the thermostat to see how hot this baby gets. I saw a little drip on the bottom of the element and figure it was some epoxy cooking off that driped onto the element. Well it wasn't it was the actual element melting and it cooked off the wiring as well. Luckly I have another element and I am off to the hardware store to get new wiring and a voltage regulator.
Today was a bad day indeed.

That really sucks Brother, I hope you do better in the future. I know this is costing you a small fortune but hopefully it will come back to you.

I forgot to mention. Lat week my PC got a terrrible virus it cost more than a bran new comp to fix it
Also the 2 drains in the back bed room were cloged it cost $250 for Roto Rooter to snake them out . They messed up the sheet rock around the drain pipe. Big boy ( that would be ) was just under there patching inside the cabinet. NO EASY TASK WITH THIS SPIKE HELMET ON MY HEAD. Then we got a plumber in to fix 4 leaky faucets another $220 . Roto Rooter wanted to charge $1200 !!!!
Man those guys are some rip offs.

Oh the humanity

never spend that kind of money to fix a computer. They're getting better and cheaper every year. Just make sure you do regular back ups of important things you have saved on your computer, which costs virtually nothing to do, then if you get a virus, chuck your computer and get a new one.

And getting Norton anti virus is a small cost that can lead to big savings. I've used it for years and had no problems with viruses, spyware etc. There are cheaper substitutes but they may cost you more in the end.

And remember, when things are going sour:

"the sun'll come up tomorrow, tomorrow, bet your bottom doillar on tomorrow.."

Glad I never tried that suspension technique, was thinking about it too when I mold the main float for my Rufe. Bullet missed there, sorry you had to find out about it the hard way Matt, you did say though you suspected massive air bubbles with this technique though, you were right unfortunately. Probably why they put that bull on there...so we can buy more RTV!!

I feel your pain brother. Just had $4200 worth of well work done, 782 ft well that a previous ah tried to tell us a) was going dry and b) wasn't in fact 782' deep but only 480'. Tried to sell us a $15k new well... Well I know damn good and well how deep that well is so brought in some new blood and yes it is 782', imagine that. Not only that but the well is stronger than LSD with the water table at 430'. Lightning struck the previous pump so eldumbass lies to us that the well is shallower than supposed to be so he sets the pump at 480' and sets the pressure way low so "it won't dry it up too quickly"..igit. We also spent $300 on a diaphram tank so don't have to air up anymore....nope screwed us there too, standard tank. Paid for new wire...nope, spliced into old wire and the pump was way too small as well. So, it burned up naturally. The new crew put the correct pump in, reset it at 600' at 60psi and installed new wire as I was home and watched the intire job. Now the shower will darn near wash you out of it, but the hot water heater now doesn't work, have replaced both t-stats, elements, checked the pressure valve, cleaned the sediment out, still nothing...elements get juice but won't heat up, so I guess it's off to Lowe's and another $300-400 bucks for a new heater. PC...don't get me started. My crap HP has the typical HP issue of forgetting that it has a DVD/Rom, nothing fixes it and the modem died. So theres another $300 for a new tower as I'm not screwing with it, was a cheap WM pos anyway. But I am back on track with the Rufe barring anymore crap.

Wow....and I thought I was having a bad day when a truck tooling down the highway kicked up a small rock that bounced off of my not-three-hours-old motorcycle helmet and scratched my brand new clear shield!!! I guess I should be thankfull that the shield was closed and saved my $700 perscription glasses and priceless eyes.....Now I'm doubley thankfull!
