k gun

i was playing with my old hasbro tie fighter, the small wing version with the 'exploding' wings and discovered that the little spring mechanism which makes the wings come off would make a great depth charge thrower (k gun). These of course were used on wwii era destroyers to launch depth charges from the sides of escort ships, a few dozen yards, into the water. You just need to cut the little nub off the base of the wing and stick that in the spring mechanism joint and push the button and you'll find it goes quite a ways. One of mine goes about 9 feet....the other a paltry 4 feet, but i can strengthen that spring easy enough.
So, if one wanted to, one could make a rudimentary rear deck of a british destroyer, mount one of these home made k guns on either side of it, fashion up two custom depth charges with launching spigots, attach these to the nubs of the tie fighter wings and simultaneously launch two depth charges from each beam of the makeshift destroyer, couldn't one. Hm.
