1/32 P-51B "Princess Elizabeth" Decals?

Post by RAD 2112 » Tue Aug 05, 2008 4:29 pm

I'm planning to customize one of my "Cripes A Mighty" planes to "Princess Elizabeth".
The only problem is trying to find Decals in 1/32 scale.

I have checked at:

EagleCals
http://www.eagle-editions.com/decintro.htm

Squadron
http://www.squadron.com

Does anybody know where I might have better luck finding those decals?

Thanks!

Greatmodels.com, no gots...

Any other leads?
If worse comes to worse, I'll just have to create some stencils from mylar.

If there isn't a B/C model available in 1/32 you can bet there won't be much in the way of decals either. But, luckily for you, there is an easier way. Buy some PE decals in 1/48, blow them up on a scanner, and then print them on blank decal paper using a laserjet.
Here is a pic of my 1/48 Princess Elizabeth commission I painted for a customer using a Eagles Intl. diecast P-51B/C.

hworth18, you're just full of surprises... Nice paint job! I'm guessing it's not just a hobby.
I think the only drawback to scanning 1/48 decals is that the white areas might get lost in the background.

BTW: My friend's daughter is named Elizabeth, whom he calls "Princess". So I thought this would be an appropriate birthday gift for him. :D

It would be a neat gift for him and his daughter...
You can also buy white decal paper but you'd have to be able to trim the decals exactly to keep from getting a white edge. The guy I build commissions for makes many of his own decals and they come out fine for what I do.
