Thanks guys as always,
I think I finely got the jagdpanther mastered, or as good as I’m gonna do it anyway, there are some things that could have been done different, I was trying to get it as close as possible so it could be sold in a kit form like a model would be, There is 25 molded pieces on the top plate alone, All very small pieces, this is not counting the front or the rear hatch area, from the mantlet to the muzzle is 5 molded parts, rear hatch area has 6 molded parts, then you move to the lower hull where each individual spare track has to be customized so the track pins will work and then you go to the rear deck, and rear hull area, it goes on and on – a never ending story—then zimmerit, side skirts, painting, detailing, making everything work together, then you go to the inside, ( you got to keep those commanders from falling through), I built one platform inside for them to stand on, and another one in the rear hatch area where you can slide a 3rd crew member inside in the standing position (open the hatch and there he is) and you get a custom tank commander to boot and a few extra custom items I always throw in the box, ( my way of saying thanks to the winning bidder ) All for $500.00 Bucks,
To the Average person this would be Ridiculous.
To a Collector or Customizer - A (priceless) - piece
Stug – Thanks for Noticing my tank to begin with, My customs are rarely mentioned on this form--- LoL---
Mg40 – Thanks for the kind words about my work.
SnakeEyes – As much stuff as you have bought from me in the past few years, your credit is good with me anytime on any custom.
Kamikaze – Making working hatches with correct hinges is a pain in the ^@#, But I have never or would never own or build a tank with out them.
Jagdpanther – I know it’s a lot of money, but when you break it down to material cost, time involved, scratch building, making molds, etc..........It comes out to be about $5.00 --$6.00 bucks a hour and this don’t include buying a panther to begin with. Heck I wish I could afford to keep it. This is one of the reasons I want to put it in Kit form to make it cheaper but you would have to be a advanced modeler to put the dam thing together, It’s a no win situation either way you go.
PS ---Long live Robert E Lee and all he ever stood for —
