easy way to remove markings of XD tanks?

is there an easy way of getting the printed on markings off of 21c tanks, without repainting? Specifically, i want to take the US stars off one of my Shermans to make it into a British sherman, but i don't want to have to repaint.
Any tricks?

Sadly, there is no way for you to remove the printed marking on XDs without damaging the paint underneath.
But...
From what I remembered, some of the older series Shermans didn't have paint on them. They only have the natural plastic color. So it would be possible for you to use acetone-based nail polish remover to easily remove those markings.
PS: Couldn't you leave the stars on? Lotsa British Shermans and even Canadians have the stars too.
