ive decided im going to get the 1/20 su-27 to customise as my next project..just wanted to know if any board members know where i can get just the complete airframe (ie the plane without battery and charger, etc)? and where i can get it at a good rate?
our moderator here is into this sort of think (if i remember correctly?)....do you have any tips on where to get it (im in the uk) and also what sort of paint to use on it (i dont need it to fly). ive already started looking around as to what i can use as parts to customise missiles for it...(love the aa-10's)
any help would be greatly appreciated..
1/20 su 27
the only ARF Su-27 that's close to scale is the Art Tech version. It's about 1/19. I've only seen it offered in one version, that comes with fans, servos etc and retails around $200. You might find a used one on ebay that's cheaper with some patience.
The only other one is from X-Flight. It is just the kit but is fairly basic and somewhat crude and more work but can be made into a pretty good model with some work. It's a bit cheaper.

does anyone know what paints i cannot use on styrofoam (eps)? sorry to keep asking questions bout the same thing...just havent used styrofoam or these rc plane moulds before...
i usually use spray application on larger models, both the tamiya paints and the new humbrol ones..are these ok on styrofoam?

Testor and Tamiya spray paints are fine on most styrofoams.....as are Krylon paints.
BUT before painting test on a scrap of the same type of styrofoam. Occasionally paint will eat the foam and it will vanish. However, the above paints are normally quite safe. Don't use the Testors metalizer paints though.
