Diorama & Video: Battle in Northern France, late 1944

I spent several days relaxing at my family's vacation home in the Sierra Nevada mountains, and brought along a few XD vehicles which I couldn't resist setting up in a little ETO diorama among some small pine trees

They sort of follow a story pattern: German armor rushing to the front, then ambushing an American patrol, which overcomes the Germans and presses onwards. I've included some short video clips to add to effect. These turned out to be rather difficult to get right and could really use some pyrotechnic effects, but they came out pretty good considering the very basic nature of my digital camera's capabilities. The photos and video were shot close-up and in black-and-white as though they were shot by a soldier in the midst of the action. Again, all that's missing are the bullets and smoke.

Enjoy :D

Ach! Ein 'Blooper'!
(Watch as the Panzer IV proceeds along as planned, only to make an abrupt left turn and mow down some unsuspecting infantry bystanders :P )

Shaver? Dinkey? Where did you go to beat the heat? About the Sherman tracks, I'll agree, they seem to be on reversed, however, I was thinking of doing this intentionally on a custom I'm making for the middle east area. I thought perhaps that they might perform better in the sand reversed, but I opted not, since I knew someone would catch me on it. Good eye MG-42.

Thanks for the comments! Its been a while since I played with my tanks in the woods. I hadn't noticed the Sherman tracks  They are as put on by a Chinese laborer in the 21c factory 4 years ago.

Ruger, the pictures were taken at my family's vacation home just outside Shaver Lake. There are some smaller pine trees in the front that work quite well for XD dios

T-man,
Very cool. That Mk IV must be driven by an 18 year old kid. Thrashing about in the woods like that with people all around.
Boy I sure wish they had toys like this when I was a kid. I wonder if I would have grown up differently ?
