Love the functional hatches normandy.. :D Have to admit I cringed a tiny bit when I saw that you used the S1 Panzer IV instead of one of the RC versions due to the relative ebay value that the S1's tend to bring these days. ;)

Can't wait to see the finished product!

WOW ! That's a cool convertion ! Now your infantry will have some serious fire support.

Do you plan to add zimmerit on it ?

Thanks guys. Grunt, the S1 Panzers never showed up here in the North East so I got 3 from Bad Cat and cut two of em up.
Phil, yes I am going to put zimmerit on maybe by weeks end.
Gary, for the longest time I couldn't figure out how to make the gun move. Then one afternoon I was working on the tank and looked over at some styrene strips and :idea: Well got more work to do on it, I'll post more pics soon.

Amazing detail. How long does it take you to make one of these and what type of resources are needed, tools, mediums...?

Fritzkrieg, how long? That all depends on how much time I can devote to a project. This has been in the works for about a year. :roll: I did a Panzer IV/70 (Sd Kfz 162/1) in about a month.
One of the first things is to find a line drawing of the subject you'll be working on and enlarge it to 1:18th.
As for tools..... files, saws, drills, dremel, your basic modeling tools.
Mediums....... Sheet Styrene by Evergreen scale models, Zap-a-Gap AC glue and Squadron Putty, white or green.
Thats it.....You pick a Tank and start cutting :wink:

Not entirely unlike constructing a real AFV, the main difference being you're working with sheets of plastic instead of armor plate. Guys like you that can do a project like this have my utmost respect and admiration. To me, this type of thing is one of the most challenging and difficult things a modeler can attempt.
