This is one of the easier conversions you can do on the IV chassis. The superstructure is cut from .080 styrene, patterned from the 1/35 Tamiya kit. The gun is made from a ping pong ball, a piece of 1/2" I.D. PVC pipe, and a section of a Sharpie marker with the end beveled with a file while chucked in a drill press.

Looks good. Clever trick using the Sharpie for the barrel.

Gary, Its looking great! Which Panzer IV did you use the metal or plastic?
I've been working on a Brumbar on and off for the last year.

I get into it and then a honey do list shows up.

Anyway I started with a die-cast Panzer IV (plastic would have been faster) and seem to be at about the same point you are but without the side armor. Just tonight I put the hinges on the doors...top and rear and the commanders hatch. I've found that the hinges #43103 from Houseworks look and work well for 1:18th scale.

Does your gun rotate? Mine only elevates.
My IV is plastic.

Gary, those look like the hinges. The trick is to carefully glue the hinge to the tank and have it still work.
The gun does rotate and elevate. I used Evergreens Strip Styrene item# 148 (.04 x .188") to hold the gun in place, which also allows the gun to move. I'll take some pics.
If I had a few more Panzer IV's I'd like to try a Wirbelwind and Ostwind Flakpanzers.
Kamikaze, thanks for the heads up on the Ace Hardware. I was getting these hinges from a local hobby shop but like most of them, he has closed shop.
