Rupert paradummies

Post by aferguson » Mon May 26, 2008 8:05 pm

i picked up a pack of little paratrooper party favours today, with the idea that they might make good d-day 'Rupert' paradummies that were dropped in operation Titanic to confuse german units during the night of june 5/6 (these are shown briefly in the movie 'the longest day' although they were a bit more glamourous looking than the real Ruperts).

Now that i have them, i have absolutely no idea what to do with them...lol.

Suggestions?

IIRC you have an RC scale C-47. If so, could you have an airman chucking them out of the door?

yeah i thought of that but it's kind of a big plane to commit to these little ruperts; i'm going to have regular paras jumping out of my c-47.

Besides, the ruperts weren't carried in c-47's. They were carried in stirlings, halifaxes and hudsons. :?

Have a German soldier showing off one of the dummies to his superiors.
