Ok Guys,
The P-36 is well under way. The Ki-61 Tony will be next. These are the 3 planes that will by on my to-do list. I will give you guys your choice of wich one I will do next. Of course this will be a few months away. I will take this People's Choice seriously. Unless there will be an OVERWELLMING 4TH choice that I do not have on y list. I WANT TO KEEP IT IN WW2 PLANES !!!

The P--39 would be awesome, but it is a really unique plane with its rear mouned engine, tri-cycle landing gear, and doors to enter the cockpit. Such a cool plane teh P-39 is.

I say go with the Val, and not because I am currently working on my P-39.
I just think the 1/18 scale hobby is seriously lacking in the Japanese plane department. So finish and kit the Tony and then do the Val. If everything goes well with my P-39 I plan to move on to the KI-84. From there, who knows. Maybe those of us who are making customs should have a draft of sorts so we can cover more aircraft faster.

It looks like the Val is winning.
Only 21 of you guys have voted.
The Val would go good with the P-36 I am doing . It was the first victom of air to air combat at Pearl. Shot down by 2nd Lt. Rasmussen. The 2nd and 3rd air to air victoms were Kates shot down by 2nd Lt. Brown in a standard green colored P-36. Then after these guys did there thing is when the P-40s came into the picture.
I thought that the P-39 would be first on the list.

How are you going to attack the Val project? Is it going to be 100% scratch built, or do you have other tricks up your sleeve?

I honestly do not know. I have some 1/18 scale P-39 prints but no Val prints. I really thought that the P-39 would have been on the top of the list. I do have some really good Val prints that I need to enlarge. If at all possible I will try to use another plane as a starting bed. If not, a sratching we will go.

Maybe the BBI Zero would be a good start. All of the proportions will be off I am sure but it could be a good starting platform. If the proportions are way way off it would be a waste to use it. When I get time I will check into this.

I was going to mention this but wasn't sure if the two would be close enough in size and shape. When I tackle the KI-84, I was also thinking about kit bashing a zero, but will probably just scratch build it. I have an extra zero I was going to re-paint, but will probably make a Rufe out of it. I think I mentioned it to you before, but if you get the chance check out some of the card models. All of the templates are included and you can scratch build planes like you would an RC project. In fact, many of the guys on rcgroups and rcuniverse enlarge card models for scratch built RC planes. Check out the site below, the options are nearly limitless.

Wow !I really thought that the P-39 would have been the peoples choice. I voted for the Mig myself. I have always liked it. I have enlarged the Val prints and it looks like a Zero mated to a Stuka with Spitfire wings on steroids. I need to go up into the attic and pull down one of my Zeros to lay it on the prints and see how it is going look. I know that the wings will have to be built up. Nothing will work except scratch. The fusalage I will not know until I get the Zero down from the attic.
