I just finished the conversion to RC of a BBI Sherman.
- mixed Heng Long/Wsn electronics
- Vstank pro motor and gearbox
- two speakers sound
- hull MG and gun flash
- gun recoil
- full movement, turret rotation and gun elevation
- the "fake" motor is still inside the rear hatches, and acts as main switch (by pressing it)
- the left wood crate slides to switch between rear and front lights
- the left front spare wheel acts as volume knob
- in the rear there is a onboard recharge plug
Of course, repainted and weathered.
Here are some pictures, and a Youtube video:

That is one AMAZING WORK.
I never thought those narrow rubber tracks would have worked as RC tracks, but wow...

Hey that looks great.

How's she run...?? Can you say "big bucks on ebay", not that you would want to sell it, but if you did...I can see big $$ Nice work.

The rubber tracks are the real limit, indeed. This one is intended for indoor use, since on rough terrain the rubber has too much friction and you cannot turn properly.
Indoor or on any surface allowing the tracks to slide, it has no problem as you see in the video.
I will convert a 1/18 Panther to RC too, in the next months, but I already have a set of Tamiya plastic threads to put on it. It should be able to run outside.
Unfortunately, there is no M4A3 VHSS Sherman there other than the 1/18 ones, and they all have rubber tracks (the Tamiya one is a HVSS and the running bogies, as well as the tracks, are completely different).
Sooner or later I will find some suitable plastic tracks (I hope).
As for Ebay... I think this Sherman will diplay itself for a while on my wall stand, among its 1/16 RC big brothers
For all details about its building and interiors, pay a visit at the RC Universe forum build thread:

what treads(TAM 1/16?) are you using for the Panther? Just thinking of kitbashing something better than the rubber band one that it comes with.

For the Panther I will use the stock plastic threads coming with the 1/16 RC Panther kit, plus a 1/16 sprocket wheel. Both are only slightly bigger than originals.
