I have been toying with this idea for some time now and since we have all seen so many P-51s out there, I thought it would be fairly easy to do a custom captured P-51:

I have a book on captured Allied aircraft in the Axis hands . They have a P-51 D. The one they have is a typical 51 with bubble canopy BUT WITHOUT THE DORSAL FIN TO THE RUDDER, All the planes captured by the Germans usually were painted yellow on the bottom. This one I thought of as well. It would look cool with all of the other 51s.

The book is :Stangers in a Strange Land
Here are the P-51 Ds
Notice all of the markings are all oversized. The book aslso has some P-51 Bs in it . The ones that Warhawker has posted. They also have the C-47 , B-17 , B-24 , B-25 , B-26 , P-36, P-38 and the P-47 mostly razor back. I did not see any P-47 bubbles. There are also talk of the gathering of all the crashed planes and melting them down for the aluminum. Cool book.

Uh Oh, don't let Dragon see these posts. We don't want them to do with 1/72 AC what they did with armor!

Hey, I remember that book! My local Legion of Valor military museum had that in their library. Quite an interesting read.
