Roman Legionnaire

Post by Fritzkrieg » Wed Apr 27, 2011 9:32 am

Here is my first Fully articulated 1:18 Roman Legionnaire. I was going more for the English theatre, hence the long sleeves and trousers. I used BBI Roman and Prince of Persia figures for base fodder. I will be making some barbarians for him to fight soon. Let me know what you think.

Cool! The figure looks great! What did you use for reference? The Romans really didn't adopt the widespread use of trousers (a barbarian innovation) until much later in the Imperial period...

I was inspired by the movie "Centurian", it was base in what looked to be Scottland. Most of the Romans wore, warmer clothing.

Great work -- but one problem with the horse -- there shouldn't be any stirrups. That was a mediaeval invention, believe it or not ...

I picked up a Thor figure and was inspired by the head sculpt. Here is what Rock N Roll should look like in my minds eye. LMK what you think.
