Another new diorama Ambush

Post by Cabe » Sun Feb 17, 2008 1:23 pm

I have been working on this one over the week and finished it up today.

No the top of the three is not white, it is just a bright lamp

It is made for 1/32 scale and came out quite surprising as its only 6th diorama. The tree is actually made from limbs in my yard with plastic RR HO scale plastic bendable trees as limbs to hold the the faux leaves. I primered the small trees, put light brown on them and then hit it with a whitewash, it came out looking like ashen wood, just like the dead branch.
The trees had little pegs/posts in them where they fit in there bases, I used a dreml with a tiny drill bit to drill tiny shafts all up and down the dead limbs. After I used Hob-e-tac to attach the fake leaves (clump foam) I super glued them into holes trying to put the heavier and bigger ones towards the middle and bottom.
All in all the whole thing came out better than I hoped. I do not want to sell this one, but it will probably go on ebay this evening until then I might posts on all my ww2 gaming forums and other modeling clubs to see if someone wants to take a crack at buying it off me first.

I really do hate letting this one go, it is just so.....'sob'.....just get it out of my sight......... :(
