FOB base project...

Post by Doc » Sun Jan 06, 2008 12:00 am

I was looking for somthing to do until the weather turns nice and at the same time the local target store was putting alot of the bbi toys on clearence. So after some thought I figured id do some kond of diorama, and concluded to do a Forward Operating Base (FOB).
My first project was to get enough guys and vehicles to make a small base.

With that complete I contacted my craft advisors (aka Wife and Mother) and asked what to make the barriers out of. The said that the craft stores (acmore and michaels) would prob have somthing that would work but to try things that I have at home first.
here is what they are suppose to look like:

And heres what Ive got so far

The first one basicly broke apart as I was bending it and the second one looks a lil better but needs to be dont to scale and have some sort of wire around it :?:

Anyhow Im going to work on these barriers and the vehicle mods for the weekend and then go from there. Im trying to find conex (trailer) boxes for the base and need to order some sand bags and so on. Well see what tomarows craft shoping will net.

If anyone has any ideas, sugestions etc feel more than free I have thick skin!!

Thanks
Doc

I was thinking if you had a 1/18 small heli like a bbi little bird you could do a heli pad to provide cover for your vehicles and troops

Doc,

The craft stores have a plastic mesh that will work pretty good for your application in the yarn/sewing area.
