A couple months ago, another boardmember posted pictures of an XD Panzer IV they customized in a DAK paintscheme, and from there I got the inspiration for my Panzer IVG from the 21st Panzer Division  This is my first serious custom work that involved extensive paint and tooling modifications to a vehicle.

Enjoy the pics and video :D

To begin with, I used an XD RC Panzer IV, courtesy of Razor17019. To begin, I took off the turret schurtzen, filled in some of the holes, and then gave it a good overspray using Tamyia's Desert Sand color. I also added the smoke-canister launchers and the jerry can rack. I then did the weathering by dry-brushing Testors Earth Red color onto the wheels and sides, and also used a charcoal pastel to highlight seams, ridges, etc and give the vehicle a grungy look. Next I added the decals, which are made by John's Stuff and purchased from www.goodstufftogo.net. (They still need a little MicroFlat coating to take off the shine.) Lastly, as the video shows, I was able to keep the RC function. There are most certainly a few inaccuracies, the foremost being that the tank shown actually isn't a Panzer IVG, but a modified H variant. Its close enough for me, however, and I'm pleased with the way the project turned out

Very nice job on the conversion. I keep thinking about starting my DAK conversion but procrastination keeps getting in the way. Your choice in background for the photo's is also great.
