OK guys Ill tell you how I made it. Really I had no idea it would turn out like mud so I was surprised myself. Now first I poured fine dark ballast on a paper plate, then poured burnt umber acrylic paint on top of the ballast. Then to top it all of I poured Elmers Glue Multi- Purpose Glue. Then you mix all three together and you got mud! Pretty simple I would say, the ballast makes that clump of mud as you can see on the Stuart, and the Elmers glue keeps it nice and sticky!

Fantastic job! I have two recommendations though, jsut personal things. I'd probaly put a bit more on the front of the tank seeing as that is where the msot mud flies up and I'd also try to make the white star about so...white. Looks a lil too clean and out of place. Again, just my opinion. Question: where did you get that "fine dark ballast".

Thanks for the recommendation's pickle I will work on the front a little more. The ballast you can get from any hobby store
its that woodland scenics stuff.

Your welcome, thanks for the tip on where to get it looks like I might have to muddy up some tanks of my own. Hope your technique isn't patented :D

Well give it a go that's all I can say. It was a surprise to me that it actually looked like real mud. But I would suggest to try it out on a 21st tank or action series one. Not something that cost you alot incase you didnt like the way it turned out.
