The lights under the nose ahead of the landing gear well are indeed landing lights. As designed, they pivoted down and forward about 80 degrees when they were turned on. They retracted when off to the position you see them in on the model. The lights along the rear spine of the canopy were position or ID lights that were rarely used. I'm still looking, but I haven't found any reference to flashing wingtip lights or steady lights. As for the fuselage screw caps, my suggestion would be NOT to remove them. Trust me (I know!!!) trying to match that silver paint is a real pain. You should be able to do most of your wiring without taking the fuse completely apart, but it will be harder. If you must, remove only the two holding the wings on....use the opening to hide the battery box and wiring. Then don't replace the covers....unless you want to have to replace them all over again when the battery dies.....something to think about. Another option might be to put the battery in the drop tank and run the wires down the wing. Makes the battery changing a little easier down the road.
I came across this company several months ago and have watched them since. They seem to be a garage company, but the idea is really neat. Along with lighting boards, they also are experimenting with othe roptions. I suggest you watch the short video of the B-17 startup. Super neat! When I enquired about lighting and effects for my IDF F-16I conversion, they asked about LED's in the afterburner that increase in intesity as the engine RPM increase. I am trying to incorporate cockpit lights as well as flying lights and sounds. It's expensive....but how would you like to be the only person on the face of the earth with an Israeli F-16I that not only looks good, but sounds great too!!!
