That looks cool

Very nice work and I love the gloss red paintscheme! Now you've got to make several more and hang them in a formation.

Very nice custom! How did you get such a nice glossy finish? Is it the type of paint, or is there a varnish/clear coat on top of the paint?

Nice job! Is it based on a real Russian display team, or just a "translation" like
Krazny Strela (excuse my pidgin Russian

) - the only stuff I can find on Mig 15/17-mounted red-painted Russian display teams says the top was red but the undersides were always light blue with the aircraft serial in white or black with a white border.
Now, if only someone would release the Su-27 Flanker-C, the Su-25 Frogfoot and the Mil-24 (Mil 35) Hind so we could have the Russian Knights, Celestial Hussars and the Golden Eagles...
Of course, what I'm really waiting for is the (British) Army Air Corps' Blue Eagles team to be allowed to use an Apache in their displays
Jeff (No, not that one, the
other one!)

I used regular krylon red spray paint, and coated it with clear acrylic.
I found this picture of an early soviet aerobatic team, and used it for
a referance. You may be right about the under carriage bieng another color, but I just went with all red.
Thanks for the comments......
Ken.

I'm such a jacka$$, I didnt read your original post, I thought you were the guy off of ebay. Still great work, I know how much courage it takes to do a repaint.

No I am not the one...I wish.. .......The one on ebay, is the same one that I seen last week...Thats where I got the idea to make one for myself.
If you look at his, his stars are smaller, and the guns are painted red.
I wish I could make some of the things that he has made...especially that fw-190. I might try to do the f-104 NASA chase plane. That guy is a MASTER!!!!

That is absolutely professional quality! The gloss surfacing is flawless. By the way, I take it the Stars and the Hammer and Sickle were painted/masked off as well? - I'm spraying the letters/insignia my helicopter and reserving decals for last resort (Rescue/Caution Placards) Anywho...I do believe you have the rank of 'Master'

To reply to mig-29......No I did not paint the sicle or stars....Ipulled up soviet logos and using microsoft picture it publishing 10...I made waterslide decals to size then applied the clear coat, which I think
blended it all together to look like they were painted.
