Do you do 1/32 birds too? I was thinking an Alexsandr Poryshkin P-39 would look great. Just an idea.

If one would dare a Soviet Spitfire would also a wonder, but I don't know if I could repaint a 1/18 spit, it would feel wong to repaint of 21st best looking 1/18 birds

An American Spitfire would also be something to see in 18 or 32 scale.

I am SERIOUSLY thinking that the Spitfire might be painted in russian markings. I already have the scheme picked out and was deciding between it or another one that I like. I just want it to be different from the others that 21C made. A russian one would certainly be different and it would give my P-40 a wingman!

I don't do 1:32. Sorry... I decided a while ago that I could only focus on one scale and had to stick to it. My love started with 1:18 and that was where I have stayed. I do own a small handful of 1:32 that 21C sent to me as samples / photo ops. back in the day but nothing to constitute a collection.

I am thinking that I will take pics of the Starfighter custom and post that one next. It was REALLY a fun one to do. Perhaps not the most loved but it was something that I wanted in the collection.

Would you guys like to see that one next or my MiG-15 custom? -either way I think we need to see a jet next, just to mix it up!

TKO, I finally figured out that it was you torturing us all this time, not 21C! Here you have a bunch of customs, already done, but you're choosing to slowly eek the photos out one at a time.. Might post one tomorrow, might not.. Might be the Mig, might be the starfighter, not sure yet.. Check back tomorrow..

That process feel familiar to anyone? :D

Old habits die hard! -sorry... didn't realize I was doing that. Mostly the thing driving this project is that I need time to shoot the ones that are done and that also will provide me more time to finish the ones in production.

But yeah, I have to sheepishly admit that this does seem all too familiar.

So Grunt- you choose for everyone... What jet do you want to see next?

Here is the MiG-15. It's the only other custom painted airplane that I have here at the house. Rest are at the office and I will shoot them tomorrow or something.

This MiG used to be the silver korean scheme from 21C. I masked off the national markings as they were perfect for this other paint scheme. I sprayed a surface primer first, then I sprayed the bottom in Tamiya's Corsa Blue color. The top side was done in one of Tamiya's tan colors.

I airbrushed on the green and darker brown paints. Finished by using the vinyl plotter once again to create the masks needed for the nose number which was then painted on.

I loved this paint variant the moment I saw it on a Trumpeter kit. Modelers like to do this scheme and I felt a classic communist tri tone camo was too good to pas up.

They look great TKO! You have done a great job on those and it makes me wish I had a vinyl plotter to make my own custom masks for the 1/32 stuff.

Awesome work man. 8) If you should ever find yourself in need of some extra cash I would venture to say some high quality custom paints like those would bring a very tidy sum on ebay.... not that you'd necessarily want to part with them or anything, just something to keep in mind should the need arise. 8)

Thanks for all the kind remarks guys! Keeps me going in moments like today as i PAINFULLY try to finish the Avenger as it's been a beast of a repaint.

Having too much fun sharing pictures so, here is the Stuka. I saw this one in a color profile somewhere on the internet and I decided It was time to have an all tan plane. I did what I had seen others on here do and I attached the wing tanks as the profile showed this.

As usual, Masked off the markings I could keep from the Rudel Stuka by 21C. I masked off the green house canopy and busted out the primer coat. Then used Tamiya Desert Tan or something like that. Vinyl cutter for the numbers.... you know the drill.

This one REALLY needed some weathering as it was simply way too stark in all fresh paint. Over all pretty happy with the results. The lighter grey / green interior looks sharp against the sand tan color. I need to figure out some better pilots though. The winter coats just don't cut it. Ideas?

How about take some DAK guys and adding a pilot's helmet and goggles?

Tko,
First off, really great job on these repaints.

When I saw you last photo of the Stuka in the road...
All I could think was the next pic is going to be a smashed, ran over Stuka...

My wife cam out of the house and saw me laying in street with the camera as I was trying to get some low shots of the Stuka.
she was somewhere between being concerned for my safety and thinking that my hobby was getting out of hand. LOL

Oh well...

The Dak guys are a great suggestion but I feel they would need the yellow life preserver? I dunno. I guess I need to start by finding a pic of Dak pilot

Cool looking Stuka TKO :D

Now the repainting is pointing something out : why no 1:18 scale decals ?

I know John Stuff ones but only for Stuka. Why no decals for other planes ?

I know it's a small business but that woul be nice to have some. Just an idea...
