German Soldiers "Defense of Berlin"

Post by Fritzkrieg » Wed Apr 02, 2008 3:21 pm

Buy the end of WWII Germany had been depleted of young men, which left the defence of Berlin down Old Men and Young Boys. These customs represent those last defenders of the Fatherland. LMK what you think.

DAK Camel Trooper

Post by Fritzkrieg » Mon Apr 07, 2008 6:43 pm

This may be a bit of a stretch, but I have seen some photos of Germans riding Camels durring the North Africa campaign. I changed up the hip articulation to allow him to stradel the camel. LMK what you think.

nice idea......i don't mean to burst your bubble but i believe those germans are riding dromedary camels (one hump). I don't believe bactrian (two hump) camels are used for ridiing by anyone in north africa region because two humpers are native to asia (eg gobi desert). It's always dromedaries you see being riden in africa, so most camel cavalry through history have been dromedaries.

If that's the PTE camel it would be correct as a bactrian because they are found in the afghanistan region and their figures are to represent special forces in afghanistan, i believe.

You are correct, unfortunatly the single humped camel was not available to me, so I opted for the two humped camel as a substitute.

a few years ago i found some one hump camels at a local dollar store and they were dandy for custom work. Try looking at local dollar stores in the toy section.

One hump, two hump, red fish, blue fish- Fritzkrieg - I really like what you did with the camel and DAK figure.
I particularly like the rifle holster you have. Did you make that or find it somewhere?
Can you tell us how you got the figure to straddle the camel?

Love the AT-PE... Super paint job. I've got one myself that I'm repainting.

I don't know why, but that AT-AP looks great in the "Panzerified" paintscheme and foliage camoflauge. It just looks so right 8)

WWII Germans Yr. 2039

Post by Fritzkrieg » Sun Apr 20, 2008 9:22 am

This is part of a custom project based on a Scifi concept, I've had in my head for a few years. It takes place in an alternate future, in which WWII has never ended. LMK what you think.

For 100 years the War of 1939 has raged. The Earth has been scorched by a 100 years of war, it's skys grey, from the polution of a million war forges, billowing black smoke. The barren lands that remain have been divided between a few super powers. Most of Europe and Asia has been controled by the Third Reich for 5 decades. The western hemisphere is now known as Fortress America, the last bastion of hope for freedom. The Pacific and easten China has is now the "Empire of the Rising Sun". A few continents have become hotly contested, for their resources. Africa, Antartica, and Australia, have become the battlegrounds for an war without end.
