Hey Man. I need to chime in on this one. That Spit is fantastic. I want one for myself. Can we work out a trade for something ?

I just emailed pictures of the Spit to a good friend of mine. He is really big into Spitfires, and he is going to love this one. :D

Thanks Matthew. I just wish 21st Century would have made a CL-13 in a Canadian paint scheme. The paint scheme in my avatar would have been really nice looking.

WOW! Beautiful work tko, that spit is one of the sharpest customs I have seen. That is a unique paint scheme that you don't see very often.

thanks for all the kind words. After putting all the work it's easy to like what you do, to that point I have liked all of these projects. But that spitfire has to be my favorite far.

While the paint was drying on the spit I managed to bang out a new 2 seat me-262. I also need to complete my p-47. So I am really close on 2 more at least! Hope to have something new for everyone by Sunday.

I am trying to decide if I want to make a couple more spits like mine for those few people who might really like one... The repaint is not too tricky it's more just the time and cost of spits currently. I just know how cool this one is in person! It's my favorite piece right now.

TKO, I have a serious case of XD envy going on right now. It is one thing that you have the skill to make all these incredible customs, but the fact that you churn these out so easily blows me away! Each one of these you post looks better than the last. You are a maestro!

Here is the Me-262 2 Seater custom. I decided to do a trainer instead of another nightfighter version. I also liked that the coloring was going to be different from the light green / brown on yellow 7 and my own grey / green version that I did for my white 2.

This one required a bit more paint than the single seat version I did due to the fact that the bottom used to be black but is now that light German Blue. This one took about 2-3 days of about 4 hours spent each time.

As usual with these customs, all the markings are vinyl cut stencils that are applied like stickers, then painted on and the stencil sticker mask is removed to reveal the finished painted marking.

The German camo is fun to do with an airbrush and I even had my 9 year old daughter do a little on this. Who says XD is just for us guys! She had a blast.

Enjoy the pics. I am now right in the middle of painting a Viper! (F-16 for those who might not be familiar with the nickname). -It's going to be AWESOME.

Enjoy

A unique scheme Z, and one I bet we wouldn't see from 21st even if they had kept up with repaints. Looking good! :D

TKO

If you do a Thunderbirds 16 I'm going to be mad, LOL.

I've been waiting for BBI to do that one forever, seems I have had it on preorder forever too.

Maybe if you do that it will encourage them to hurry up

Seriously keep up the good work on these, I only wish I had the room for this stuff!

TKO

This is for you

I was curious to see what that Russian Spitfire would look like in a Russian Winter scene. The winter scene is from my backyard during a snowfall last year and I inserted your Spitfire in the photo. The positioning is a little off but it gives the general idea. Just was a little bored and playing with my photo editor.

Regards

Corey

Hey that photo looks great! Nice job considering all you had to work with was a picture of my plane on the driveway!

I do love that Spitfire, It was my favorite custom project till tonight.

I just finished the Viper and this thing turned out better than I thought it might. It's my new favorite with the Russian Spitfire right behind. I am going to try to shoot pictures tomorrow afternoon. I have been in a painting frenzy all day today.

I still need to leave feedback on ebay to the person who sold the F-16 to me! It arrived on Friday, I took it out of the package, inspected all the parts and started to mask it off yesterday. Today it's been about 8 hours of painting all together! Looks KILLER!

No it's not a T-bird. Sorry, I am still hoping that BBI comes through with one. The one I did is a foreign scheme.

Tired of seeing nothing but grey F-16s in 1:18 scale? Looking for something with a little more color? Me too! Introducing my custom paint solution to the old boring bird:

Israeli Air Force F-16C/D 105 Scorpions Squadron, also known as a “Barak F-16” by the Israeli Government. I wanted to do something, anything other than grey. The Thunderbirds scheme was tempting but I still hold out hope that BBI will release one and then I would not like mine as much. So I did lots of research and then landed on doing a Barak Viper. That was the easy part. Deciding on what squadron to do was actually harder as they have several tail markings that are awesome! There is a hawk, a skull with wings, another bird with a viper in it and a couple others. I decided that the scorpion was the way to go for me.

Speaking of markings, I used my vinyl stencil method as usual, but this time with the scorpion I had to cut the scorpion as a positive and then I airbrushed the dark tan over the sand color. After it dried I could peel up the scorpion image to reveal the sand color underneath. This is the same way that the 1:1 scale paint scheme is produced. It worked really well and the finished result is very nice.

The light green color was custom mixed starting with a RAF sky blue / green color. That particular green used on the Barak birds is pretty unique in color. I enjoyed doing this one so much that I think I might buy another F-16 and tackle another paint scheme. But not grey.

Enjoy!
