Devgru members microman style

Post by scope uk » Thu Dec 14, 2006 3:30 pm

Hi ever since getting my first micromen i knew that they would be perfect for this type of project and now we have the marauder inc AK i just had to make them. This is the first of a four man team that will eventually be expanded to 6 men the fifth will have ak with grenade lau and sixth will get the rpk when john releases wave 4.

I also must thank SteelBonnet for sorting me out with the bearded heads for these guys :D Thanks JA!

Here is a front pic

And a pic of him with all most of his gear (there are a couple more things in his pack)
Image
as you can see he is pretty well kitted out the only things i am not quite happy with are his boots (changed to a new design for the next three) and the paint job on his head.

They are also missing pistol mags but this will be corrected when i do the other two next year.

Anyway let me know what you think :D I will try to get some outside shots to show off how possable these figs are as the pics dont show this.

brilliant custom! he looks awesome..i can see all the work that went in to that, and it came out very very well. where did you get the chest rig from? would you sell those slings you made for it? id be keen to buy some off you for my ak74's and also the next wave rpk's and whatever other goodies come out...

the only way i can think of that this custom could be improved on at all is painting the weapon and mags....

theres a good airfix/humbrol metallic paint that looks very good...i intend to use it on my aks, and to find a good light brown wood colour for the mags..

the only thing i could imagine him missing kit wise is bog roll, haha..

awesome custom!

Thanks zhukov glad you like hime the chest rig is custom made each pouch on the front (the 4 smallest ones) hold 2 clips each and i used velcro to make sure they could all open an close. The straps are adjustable aswell so he can wear it without bodyarmour and jacket.

The straps are made using ribbon unfortunately i find it VERY hard to find this size which stops me from doing them for other people i'm affraid.

The weapon has been painted matt black although the pic doesn't really show this very well (I did find that this coat of paint made the clip fit even better though)

Thanks Ja glad you like him i want all my microment to receive this sort of treatment eventually.

Here are a couple of shots of the rest of the guys they have similar gear but also carry a laptop bag with seperate map pouch and claymore bag. I also changed the boot design anyway lmk what you think :D

These figures look sweet! Love that you used the microman to take advantage of the articulation!

Thanks for sharing! Awesome work! And love that it is modern stuff too!
