Custom F-86 Crew Chief figure

Post by tmanthegreat » Tue Nov 28, 2006 10:18 pm

I posted this in the 1:18 forum also, but thought I'd post here in the proper thread as well. Not sure how accurate it is, but I made a satisfactory crew chief figure using the body of one of the M113 tanker figures (the one in the plain fatigues) with the head switched to that of a BoB Jeep driver.

Since getting the surplus Viet Nam tanker figures, I didn't have much use for the M113 figures until now. Its a pretty basic-looking ground crew figure and would probably work in any aircraft dio from WWII through Viet Nam :)

The crew chief looks great, really adds to the look of the F-86.

G'day Tman.....

I think he looks great, only things missing are the half smoked cigar and an oily rag in the back pocket like Sgt Rizzo from M.A.S.H.

Looks great now only if I can find one for myself. 8)

I recently saw an auction for the M113 crew figures on Ebay, so they're out there.

Great work with the Crew Chief.

He certainly looks the part though must admit I`m with Spudkopf on the cigar & oil rag...LOL

Just great to see Ground crew for any of the aircraft & surprised BBI nor XD haven`t picked up on that at all (WWII,50`s,Nam,Modern).

Though with the likes of yourself,Mig29 & a few others, ground crew are indeed coming onto the scene.

Tman...

Good job! It's the basic generic-looking figures that have plenty of potential for modifications. I'd say he's fits the bill for ground crewman. I have that same plane! So did we all come to a consensus about the meaning of "Squitch?" It sounds like an animal to me.
