I was thinking of converting the 1/18 M48 into an M60. Does anyone know of any major visual differences between the two besides the main gun barrel and mantlet plate?
Thanks

M48/M60 conversion question.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.

There are many differences between the two. The M48 has a boat hull or round shape with a round front of the hull. The M60 has a flat front much like a Panther does. The M60 has a different wheels that are made of aluminum(sp) and look completely different then the M48's. There is also some differences on the turret where the commanders coupla sits. I believe the M60's bulges out from the turret more.

Think this would be a seriously tough conversion for all the reasons Grock mentioned, plus the M60 turret is pretty much a different shape altogether, at least from comparing my FOV M60 with the 21C Patton. Also, changing that "bath tub" hull to the sloped M60 type would be a major project all by itself. Cheers,There is also some differences on the turret where the commanders coupla sits. I believe the M60's bulges out from the turret more.
