Questions about painting a Sherman rc tank

I have bought a used radio shack Sherman tank(in great shape and I paid a whole ten bucks for it)I know it is hardly accurate

. But I want to paint it up and weather it a little.I have peeled all the stickers off of it but it left residue behind any ideas how to get rid of that?Plus it is dusty and dirty any ideas how to wash/clean it with out destroying the R.C and running gear in it?One other thing any ideas for a type of paint that i could use on the tracks to give it a more real look that would last a little bit of time on moving tracks?I also plan on cutting the muzzle brake off the end to make it more sherman looking lol and maybe some camo nets and or storage to hide some of the"toy" like parts any suggestions would be great. I will post pics after I finish it.Thanks as always for any help.

Mineral spirits usually work great for removing the sticky gunk left behind from tapes, labels, and stickers etc., but it also tends to remove paint , so be careful where you use it, maybe test it out on part of the vehicle such as the underside first. If the thing is not painted, don't worry about it, mineral spirits won't harm most plastics. As for washing and cleaning it, most of your household cleaners like 409 and Windex have worked well for me. I am not certain what kind of plastic the tracks on your tank are made of, but if it is the same or similar material as that found on the 21C XD tanks then the black and grey primers of the "Rustoleum" type work great, and they adhere extremely well to the tracks, and will not come off easily. Good luck, but a quick word of caution - don't run muddy or freshly-painted tracks on your (wifes) nice, clean carpet

On a slightly related note, am I totally wrong in thinking a 6v sealed lead-acid battery should be able to drive two 3.6v electric "screwdrivers" with little or no loss in performance?

kim is a she not a he.....so the wife thing may not be a problem.

Sounds like a good find. I hope you will give your poor cat a break and not chase it around with the Sherman too...
