I've posted my pics of this repaint before, but since we have a section for them now, I thought I would show them again.

Excellent job on the repaint Pokey. The P-47 is one of my favorite airplanes of all time. Thanks for sharing and keep up the god work.

I've just started working on another repaint tonight. I'm going to keep it a secret for now, but I will say that it is another P-47. Keep checking back, I'll post pics when it is done.

Alright, I teased a while back about my next P-47 repaint, and here it is: Pengie IV flown by Capt. 'Mike' Boleslaw Gladych of the 61 FS, 56 FG, 8th AF. I put a couple of pictures in with Pengie next to Eilen just as a before and after photo, since I used an Eileen for the conversion. Enjoy the pictures.

Awesome work! Your repaints are as good (in fact better) than the 21c examples. It would certainly be cool to get a 21c P-47 with those sort of markings.

Thanks for the compliments, guys. I appreciate them. I try to pick planes with interesting paint schemes when I do repaints. Seems like you all like this particular scheme.

Here's pics of my latest custom paint job, Pokey's Pride. I redid a BBI P-51 Mustang in my own personal paint scheme and gave it my own nose art. I figure I will probably never own a real P-51, so I'll settle for my own in 1:18 scale. I came up with the name from my nickname and used the graphic from the children's story, the Poky Little Puppy, which was first published in 1943.

hey pokeyjtc
did you take killer apart or mask it to paint it?
i have an extra killer and undertaker and thinking about pulling them apart and using the best pieces of each to do a Chuck Yeagers G G III :?

Thanks for the compliments. I didn't take the plane apart, I just masked it piece by piece. I did paint the fuselage and wing section seperately before assembling it. It was originally a Killer, but I repainted all of the bare metal with alclad since I didn't want to have some parts with the weathering and some parts without. I did mask the national insignias and invasion stripes that came on the plane so that I wouldn't have to repaint them or make decals for them. I also went back over the Pokey decal with some Micro Sol Setting solution to get it to adhere better and get rid of most of the silvering you can see in the picture. I don't know if any of you noticed, but I also made the squadron letter codes on the plane my initials.
