Greetings All,
Its clearly been a long time since I last posted. The Mustang sat for quite a while. I just got lazy...no other excuse. Now that retirement has befallen me (yeah, Im that old) I have time now to work in earnest.
Much has changed in my approach and how I want this to end up. Hence, much of the prior work, while not a waste, since it had to be done anyway, has a new direction.
I kept looking at the rudder and elevator and decided they just didnt have sufficient scale fidelity. The underlying structure is visible under the doped fabric. My example lacked this. It was too flat. The rudder and elecators were stripped of all detail. I had used tape to simulate the structure in the first example and chose to stay on this tack.
The structures (ribs)were built up using 1/64 Letraset line tape after the the aluminum portions were added using Tamiya tape. Tamiya tape was then overlaid on the ribs to blend them in.
Once the structures were built up, Tamiya primer was oversprayed to blend it all together...
Just my opinion, but I think it gives a more realistic representation of the prototype.
