Well considering he painted 7 pieces in about the same 2 week period of time before heading back to college, it doesnt surprise me that he left off the dials on the radio. He isnt painting these things for IPMS Internationals for pete's sake. Can he do it? Sure he can. I feel that you stop a step short of presenting a really nice piece with little things like that, as it's those little details that can elevate a model from good to great. I think you are talented enough to pull it off.
See what I did to the radio in the Tamiya Wespe:
A little white on a couple of knobs, and a couple of placards I took off an Airscale German cockpit detail set, plus my own cabling and it really pops now. You have pop in you; let me see it, man.
