Is there a fix for 1/32 P51D landing gear? Ultimate Soldier.

Bought a Ultimate Soldier P51D and realized that the landing gear was horrid! I planned on doing a repaint so I've taken it apart and getting ready to sand down the rivets that look like something off an old ship.

I don't know, I'm sure I could make it work. I do have the B/C model the wings almost fit. Probably just do a in flight display

Yea, that's the thing about some of these 21st models.
Like on the 1/18 models where the struts are molded to the gear doors.

Unfortunately, in the effort to make things a working feature certain compromises have to be made. Part of 21st's problem was whether to make them toys or display pieces, I think.

BBI did a fantastic job on their BF109. Although, it is a little fragile. The Merit dauntless is hands down the best 1/18 (Mass produced) model today! But, it is FRAGILE!

Well, I think it is safe to assume Merit didn't make the Dauntless for little kids, nor did BBI for their larger planes.
Would you hand either of those to an 8-year-old and let him run outside to play with it?

The bbi planes ain't no more then kids toys they look way to toylike, the earlier 21ct models were made plain with out the failed attempt to do weathering like the BBI P-51 or the 21ct BF-109G's, so with the plain schemes it allows for easy custom weathering to make them look more realistic like compared to bbi aircraft.[CAT]CplSlade wrote:Well, I think it is safe to assume Merit didn't make the Dauntless for little kids, nor did BBI for their larger planes.

A helicopter does not want to fly, it just vibrates so much that the ground rejects it

Yeah def. a toy. Just weird that the Mustang has a cheesy gear set up and the other don't.
