Balkenkreuz, the easy way

Post by flyboy_fx » Tue Mar 13, 2012 1:30 pm

Well, I figured out a very simple way to mask, for near perfect airbrushed Balkenkruez! I'll post a tutorial for it soon enough, I just wanted to show you guys how it looks! This was my first attempt at it with the new method. It did not come out too bad! The upper wing balken did not come out so great, I'll try to fix it or just re-do it. It was done with another method I was trying.

The method is pretty easy without lots of measuring involved. I still measure the width of everything to make sure it's perfect.

Very nice. On the Hartmann version I did I airbrushed the Kruez and it was a pain. Measured and than masked it off to do the white and than waited a couple days and masked to do the black. Hopefully your method is easier.

Yea, MUCH better I think. There are some slight imperfections, like .5-1mm off sometimes. As in congruency of the arms? I don't know what to call it. lol Would it be symmetrical or something? But over all, works GREAT! There is practically no measuring and adjusting. Pretty strait forward. ;)

OK so you measured the cross and that made it easier to do.

Kind of not much of a secret there.

I meant measure to check the accuracy of it. There's no measuring as you apply the tape. ;)
