PanzerArm is right: I refer to new guys as 'kid'.

We just got a batch of fresh-outta-school kids at work. Being a Project Manager, they came to me for advice. Lots of advice. 5 different kids each hour, to be exact. After a few days of this I started calling everyone 'kid', even my wife (oops).

Nothing personal derek, it is just a word that had been annoyingly pressed into my head, and since you joined the forum around the same time the new kids at work showed up I made an association.
