I picked this 1:18 truck on clearance a couple of years ago at Menards after Christmas. I actually bought 2 and am thinking about doing some kind of a deuce and a half or half track creation with the other one. I plan on painting this one OD and adding a few US decals I have left over from the Dragon Wagon project. I stripped off the tires and whitewalls and started priming it but ran out of self etching primer, I'll need to pick some up after the holiday.

Is that a late fourties to early fifties chevy, just guessing, looks like it will make a neat custom.

I got the OD base down, its gonna need a second coat. Stupid iPhone pic really washes out the color.

I got the decals on.
I had some challenges with the decals and the staff car, but that is a story for another day...

This is looking great. But the subject matter dose not move me.
You need to put a gun on it or something that will make it a weapon.
Maybe a drunk driving GI or something.

John Wayne : Mine was taller

Great idea, looks good. Where'd you get the decals? I may have to try something like that just to get something new in the collection:-)

Thanks, I got them from Monkey Depot a while ago when I did my Dragon Wagon. These were just the left overs. I was trying to stretch them out to make this truck, the staff car and a Greyhound. Like an idiot, I spilled the water on the sheet and ruined the ones I had for the staff car. I think MD's ALPs printer broke and they can't print the decals anymore!

Very nice job, YT gives inspiration for other customization: Does anyone know a die-cast model to make the modern camo chevy that are still in use on US air base?
