Alum. foil tape covering.

Well, I think aluminum duct tape works very well for that metal look!

I smoothed out the small wrinkles with the exacto knife handle. It looks great!

I was just repairing my Bf109. I am going to repaint it soon. Unless you wanted to hear I was hacking them up to make a BF110. LOL

There where some small holes on each side of the cowling so I just covered it with the tape and there ya go! Instant aluminum finish!!!! It also replicates the imperfect metal finish that you would see on real planes.

I'm impressed with the finish you got...Wonder if you could do the whole plane that way?

Was regular aluminum foil too weak for this application? I find that if I fold a sheet once or twice I get enough thickness that the foil doesn't rip and it burnishes real nice.

This is the product I use to cover entire planes. Works great but it shows every imperfection on the surface. If you use this directly over an unpreped plane, you will be able to see where all the decals are. I have a Mustang covered with bare metal foil and a few more planes lined up for it.

Yea you could cover it... It is hard to get it around curves, bulges, ect. The stuff cobra posted would be better. I just did this to cover up a couple of holes.

Stay tuned, you should see the way this plane looks now!!!! 8)
