Great job !! You are correct in the weathering. Weathering needs to be EXTREMELY subtle or it looks like crap. Most overdo it.
WWII stuff serving in war zones take more of a beating, and exposure to harsh conditions, so SOMETIMES they can get away with heavy weathering.

The F-16 looks to be very well done Kroll.
And the two seat F-18 is pretty awesome as well.
Can you give us a little lesson on how you do it. Particularly the canopy?
Those are very impressive modifications.
