That's about the craziest use I've ever seen for an XD product 
I've seen in the past where some customizers have taken 1:18 helos and turned them into flyable RC aircraft, and there has been several board members that have put little electric motors into their planes to make the props spin - but never something designed to be rocket-powered!
I guess it is a testament to the accuracy of the 21c tooling that the F-104, while airborn, was actually stable in flight and "tried to fly". The fact that it also survived the flight is amazing unto itself. Back in the day, a stunt like that could have made a good 21c promotional film
